Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico into a clan of musicians. Growing up, she listened to traditional music as well as traditional boleros. She also listened to classic romantic ballads, as well as traditional ranchero. Ana is enthusiastic about operas and tangos. In addition, she is a fan of performing in dramatic shows. She began her singing and learning musical instruments with her mother then began more intense vocal instruction when she was sixteen with world-renowned Mexican tenor Flavio Becerra. At the School of Music of Guadalajara University as well as the School of Sacred Music of Toluca in Mexico continued her music education. She sang in Guadalajara, Mexico City and other cities, both as a scholar and professional. After 2000, she moved to the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. After 2007, she settled in her current home in Southern California. The group she is in currently part of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and often performs as a soloist with traditional Latin American music at private performances. The passion and love she has for music, art, and performing keeps her involved in a myriad of local activities in the roles of teacher and performer. Ana has also been an active member of the Community Chorus of Redlands as along with The Inland Master Chorale and Performance Loft. Ana is thankful for the opportunity to share her passion and love for traditional Latin American songs with others as she hopes to spread the desire for younger generations for keeping this vibrant music alive.Viva Mexico!
